Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Heart Institute is looking for an imaging specialist in pediatric cardiology to join its multidisciplinary team. Candidates should be board-certified in pediatric cardiology with at least one additional year of fellowship training in imaging, with a focus in fetal imaging. Preference will be given to those who have had a couple years’ experience in imaging out of fellowship with the possibility of applying for the Medical Directorship position pending experience.
The current faculty includes: seventeen general cardiologists, three surgeons, five interventional cardiologists, three heart failure/transplant cardiologists, five advanced imaging cardiologists, one electrophysiologist, two adult congenital cardiologists, and eight CV-ICU cardiologists, making this the largest Pediatric Cardiovascular program in Florida and second largest in the Southeast. Joe DiMaggio offers the only accredited Adult Congenital Heart Program in Southern Florida. Current volumes include over 3500 fetal exams, over 350 Cardiac MRI exams, 30,000 outpatient echocardiograms, and 200 TEE’s annually. Joe DiMaggio also has a robust 3D imaging program including fetal MRI. The work load is anticipated to increase in the next few years with planned expansion of the general outreach clinics and the adult congenital heart program.
This is a full-time employed position with the multispecialty Memorial Physician Group. The position offers competitive benefits and a compensation package that is commensurate with training and experience. Professional malpractice and medical liability are covered under sovereign immunity.

Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital (JDCH) is a 226 bed children’s hospital in Hollywood, Broward County, Florida located near Fort Lauderdale. The hospital recently underwent a 4-story vertical expansion to double the number of floors and continue to meet its commitment to providing the highest quality care for children in the region. This expansion opened in November 2022 and includes a state-of-the-art Pediatric ICU, a new 20-bed cardiac ICU and step-down unit including 4 new procedural suites outfitted for Cardiothoracic Surgery, Cardiac Catheterization, EP, and an interventional radiology suite. The hospital also expanded its surgical capacity with an addition of other new rooms and an inter-operative MRI.
JDCH is one of six hospitals that are part of Memorial Healthcare System, the third largest public health system in the country. Memorial delivers nearly 14,000 babies per year in three hospitals and has 132 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) beds – both Level III and IV services, being ranked #21 in USNWR.
JDCH is a tertiary center that includes one of the busiest programs in the State in Pediatric Cardiology/Heart Surgery and is one of only three active programs in the state that performs heart transplantation. JDCH’s Orthopedic and Sports Medicine program is ranked by US News and World Report as number one in Florida and is one of the largest programs in the southeastern United States. JDCH also has robust Neurosciences, Hematology/Oncology and other specialized surgical programs (approximately 10,000 surgeries per year), and the area’s largest pediatric and neonatal transport team, which also does mobile ECMO.
JDCH serves over 375,000 children per year from around the state. Approximately 100,000 children are cared for in our three emergency rooms across the county per year. JDCH’s services continue to grow with the opening of the new specialty center in Palm Beach County and a new ambulatory pavilion in Miramar, near Miami-Dade County which opened in 2022.
JDCH offers resources for academic pursuits, spanning from clinical research to basic science investigation via affiliations with nearby universities and through its Pediatric Institute for Discovery and Innovation (PIDI). JDCH has an established pediatric residency program with planned fellowship in Cardiology starting July 2026.
