Nicklaus Children's Hospital, a 325-bed freestanding children's hospital, and ACS-verified Level I trauma center, and Nicklaus Children's Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the multi-specialty medical group practice of Nicklaus Children's Health System, have an exceptional opportunity for a BC/BE pediatrics residency - trained physician with Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care experience for Pediatric Urgent Care opportunities in South Florida (Miami-Dade and Broward County, FL). About the Division of Urgent Care
Nicklaus Children's Hospital owns and operates a network of state-of-the-art Urgent Care Centers with immediate physician opportunities throughout South Florida, strategically located in communities that provide easy access for the patients and families that we serve.
- Patient visits in 2024: 212,684
- Transfers to the Main ED in 2024: 3,968
- Admissions in 2024: 1,261
When a patient from an Urgent Care Center requires emergency treatment, the hospital's LifeFlight Critical Care Transport Team transports the patient by ground ambulance to an appropriate Emergency Department for care.
The ideal candidate will be experienced with pediatric suturing, wound management, pediatric trauma and transport, emergency treatment of asthma, croup, respiratory distress, possible sepsis, dehydration, anaphylaxis, febrile illness, acute surgical abdomen, orthopedic cases that require diagnosis, splinting and transport. BLS, PALS and EMS activation and transport knowledge.
- Shifts are 11 am - 11 pm - 7 days/week. 1728 annual clinical hours.
- Flexibility in time, open 365 days/year. Alternating holidays - Major and Minor. May require travel to different Nicklaus Children's Hospital-affiliated Urgent Care Centers.
- No Primary Care on site.
